My problem with goals…

May 27th, 2008

I’m not sure what my problem is exactly, but I’m not very good at keeping a goal.  I forced myself today to write in this blog.  I admit, I haven’t been following the diet pretty much at all.  My biggest downfall is carbs, I love bread and pasta.  I also love fruit, but don’t seem to eat as much as I should.

Today is a new day I guess.  I plan to start again.  It’s raining here, and I was hoping to take my two dogs for a walk.  Maybe I’ll run into the YMCA for a bit.  I want to weigh myself so I have a baseline starting point.  I’ll try to write more and journal my struggle.

Day 1 - Goal Set

May 10th, 2008

I’m not really a fan of dieting.  I’ve tried eating less, and heathier but end up binging on pizza within hours or days of beginning the “diet”.  I put on a good 50 pounds since my 2006 diagnosis of SLE (lupus).  The doctors gave me steroids and I started eating.

I weighed around 135 when I graduated high school.  I am 5′9″ and now am at around 215 or so.  I will get weighed when the gym opens and find out where I am now.

I found a new dieting idea online called Weight Loss for Idiots.  Probably another fad, I know…but it sounds interesting.  I’m going to try it and see.  This blog will be my journal of the next 3 months.  I hope by blogging to motivate myself to keep with it.
